2007
Private sector employment in the Hudson Valley Region increased over the year by 500 or 0.1 percent, to 767,700 in June 2008. Employment gains were largest in educational and health services (+2,500), professional and business services (+1,600), and natural resources, mining and construction (+800). Job losses were more widespread with the largest declines in financial activities (-1,500), and manufacturing (-1,400), and other services (-1,000). The government sector added 1,300 jobs over the year.
