TOPICS TO INCLUDE

1.   Online Instruction in WBL and Sponge Workshop for Thursday Afternoon

2.    Networking Dinner for Thursday Evening March 19, 2009 from 6 – 9.

3.    Zone Area Meetings and Introductions to other Coordinators.

4.    Human Resources Representatives from the NYS SHRM Association.

5.    New York State Department of Labor, WIB (Workforce Investment Board).

6.    NYCOSH – New York Committee on Occupations Safety and Health.

7.    Presentations on CEIP, Co-Op, and GEWEP will be provided from current coordinators at both the    traditional high school and BOCES centers.

OUTSTANDING COORDINATOR OF THE YEAR AND NEW COORDINATOR OF THE YEAR

At this year’s conference WECA will honor an outstanding coordinator and new coordinator of the year.  Think about nominating a coordinator in your zone to be recognized at our conference for one of these two awards.  Applications for both these awards will come with the registration information the first week of January and be available on our website. 

FRIEND OF WORK BASED LEARNING 

At this year’s conference WECA will be honoring a business or organization for their contributions to helping WBL.  Think about nominating an organization or business in your area that has given significant contributions to our organization across New York State.  Information regarding the award will be available on the website and in our mailing in January.  

Further information regarding the conference will be forthcoming the first week of January 2009. WECA is planning a full day and a half of activities on March 19 and 20, 2009.

WECA has reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn, Turf – Wolf Road under New York State WECA, you can contact the hotel at 518-458-7264, and rooms are available for $105 per night.
